Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th 1988) is a famous American actor, singer, and dancer. Early Broadway roles comprise Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. The Tony Award was given to her for the character of Essie Carmichael. She was in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of her professional career working with highly acclaimed actors, directors, and stage performers across film and television and she has continued to collaborate with award-winning actors on several upcoming projects. Ashford's next venture will be a limited-edition Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22nd and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford currently works in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. The film is scheduled to stream through Disney's DTC platforms in the form of a Hulu Original. Ashford returns to Broadway in the month of March 2023 with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place located at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will be the producer and director for the production. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the crisis in America that picked into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the nation's very first impeachment hearings in more than a century. Over the course of two seasons, Ashford played a prominent role in the critically acclaimed CBS comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No no stranger to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Essie on You Can't Take It with You. In addition, she was in Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde and the first character in the role of Lauren on Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for the Tony Award. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford has now divided her days between Los Angeles and New York.
